fun in the sun

My father and his two oldest grandchildren went to FL to see the shuttle launch. It never happened while they were there, but they still had some fun!

P!nk - Perfect

You know that I HATE the radio, so I think I miss all the new songs. I am not sad about this, but tonight this song has me. I LOVE Pink, she has some songs that have really touched me. To start with, her song Family Portrait...no details, it just touches me. Then when I was going through my divorce her song So What was my favorite. Now this song...

Someone may never really know how you feel about them. You can tell them over and over again, but they just don't seem to understand how much they mean to you.

(Yes, this is the clean version. I didn't see a reason to post the other version)

so blessed

It has been an amazing mothers day for me. I got to talk to someone that I have not talked to in a long time. It felt so good! I washed my truck and started playing water balloons with Titan and Odessa. It didn't take long before we had a number of children from the neighborhood over to play along. It was so fun to be outside on such a beautiful day with, not only with my own children, but  a number of others playing and getting wet. I feel so blessed to be able to enjoy children the way I do. I can't wait till the day I will be blessed with more. Lori hold your comments about me being crazy, we all know that I am :-P

Great Mother's Day indeed!

mothers day

Happy Mothers Day!! I got some Skele-Toes for mothers day. I have been working out in my bare feet and my toes are starting to not be very happy with me. I can't wait to try them out for the first time tomorrow. Here are a few pics for you to enjoy :-)

the magnetos 5/6/11

Em and I at The Magnetos show at Tornados Grub & Pub. What a great night! We got there about 9:10pm and we thought they were starting at 9 so when we got there and they were playing we started dancing. We only found out after that it was their sound check! HAHA!! I don't care though, cause I love The Magnetos! I will share a few pics from that night and then I have a short video of "my" song that they sing. I missed the beginning, I always get super excited when I hear it, but I was able to control myself enough to get it (I was still kinda dancing a bit).

On the way

Do I have anything in my teeth?

My new program! I now have 6 programs and I LOVE them all. I did my first workout tonight and my ghetto booty is stronger then I thought. I am going to need to use a heavier band and both ankle weights on one leg next time. I gotta make this ghetto booty sexy!

you really have nothing without good nutrition...

I just posted a comment about how I am not doing as well as I had hoped (as far as results) with Insanity and Asylum because of my nutrition. So I am going to dedicate a post to eating better with all the things I have learned. Hoping this will motivate me to do better.

First I want to start with Shakeology. I love this product and will for the rest of my life. It is not cheap if you look at the total price of the bag, but the price per serving is $4 (without any discounts). I bet if you drink soda or really anything else you can switch to Shakeology and save money and be healthier. I love having mine and I have a favorite recipe for each flavor (it comes in Chocolate and Greenberry).

My favorite recipe for Chocolate is: Snickers! 1 scoop of chocolate Shakeology, 1/2 cup skim milk, 4oz water, 1tbsp peanut butter, 3/4 cup walnuts, 14 almonds, 1 tsp almond extract. I substitute the skim milk and almonds extract and just use almond milk.

My favorite recipe for Greenberry is: Shamrock! 1 scoop of Greenberry Shakeology, 1 cup water, 1 tsp peanut butter, 2 tbsp fat-free cheesecake pudding mix, a couple drops of mint extract, and ice.

Here is the link to my Shakeology site so you can check it out and see all the other recipes that are provided. Shakeology I also have a banner for this site down at the bottom of the page.

I have recently started reading The Eat-Clean Diet by Tosca Reno. I have two of her books and her cookbook. I am almost done with Stripped and then I will read Recharged. These books are amazing at teaching one how to eat clean. So if you are interested I would suggest anything from this author. Another thing that has helped me is Michi's Ladder. Here is a link: Michi's Ladder This is great and will show you what to eat so you have a near-perfect diet. GOOD STUFF!!

You know by now that I love to exercise...well I have started to drink the P90X results and recovery formula after I workout. I love this and it helps with the soreness, as much as I love the pain, this stuff is so good. This is from my site: Beachbody
Studies1.2 show that with proper nutrition during the first hour following a workout you can increase your body's ability to recover by more than 100%. The key component to maximizing this "window of opportunity" is a formulation of approximately 4 parts carbohydrates to 1 part protein.
P90X Results and Recovery Formula is a state-of-the-art, great tasting, body-shaping cocktail that's guaranteed to take your results to the next level.
You can click the Beachbody link above to check this out. There are so many other products that are offered, but I have not tried them.

So I hope that this post helps motivate myself and many others. You really need to have great nutrition in order to get the body of your dreams...unless the body you want is not hard, firm, and muscular. I will be doing better and will have some updated pics to post in about 15 days, when I am done with Asylum and half-way done with Insanity.

Fawlty Towers-The Germans

I have to share this! I was introduced to this show and now I love it. I was surprised that the library had some dvd's of it to check out! I hope that you take the time to watch it and enjoy it as much as I do! If you do you should check out others on youtube. I would love to know what you think of it if you take the time to watch, so leave me a comment...please and thank you :-)

fit me for a strait jacket, put me in a padded cell...

If you are friends with me on facebook you know by now that I have two new intense programs that I have started. I am going to post my before pics here, I am showing my stomach so I will be more motivated to really stick to the plan so I have great after pics. The first program is INSANITY and that one is 60 days and then the follow up to that one is INSANITY: The ASYLUM, this one is only 30 days and I can see why. I started these on Monday and I am already down 5lbs!! So here are my before pics and some pics of my new programs and Powerblocks and then all the Beachbody programs that I have. The lighting is horrible and they are taken right after the fit tests and my first Asylum workout, so I am not a beauty queen :-P I love the support I have from family and friends and this journey is going to be AMAZING!!

From left to right: The Asylum, ChaLEAN Extreme, P90X, Turbo Fire, Insanity
Like I have been saying for so long, if anyone wants to come workout with me I would be more then happy to have the company, only if you are ready to bring it and dig deep! These are not easy, you will need to push yourself, but the the end result will be the payoff and I am looking forward to that :-) Much love to all those that support me.

8 tracks...

Haha! I am up way to late listening to songs I remember from so long ago. When I was young my dad had an 8 track player and some of my favorites were The Carpenters and UB40! They make me smile and remember good times when I was young. It is good to reminisce of the "good old days" when I didn't have a care in the world...no responsibility :-P We grow up so fast! I can remember it like it was just yesterday. In the yellow house on E avenue, the first house we lived in when we moved to Iowa.

I remember so many times when the weather was nice I would open the front door to the house, turn the music up real loud and dance like there was a live concert in my living room. I also remember waking up on a school day and it was later then normal so I was worried I was going to be late for school. Dad had to work and after we didn't like going to the babysitter in the morning anymore we stayed home and got ourselves ready. Well on this day I looked outside and there was snow all over the ground and my dad was shoveling, school had been cancelled. I remember I was excited to have my dad home that day.

I also remember a time when dad had to travel and was gone for quite some time. The babysitter we had then was so cool (she was older and one of the popular girls). I am going to go nuts tying to remember the last name of that family...GRRR!! Anyway right before my dad got home she helped us make a heart shaped cake and taught us a dance and song to perform for him when he got back. I can't remember any of it now, but it was fun to learn. GREEN!!!! That is the last name of that family. Not that any of you care that read this, with the exception of my family. I remember I had a HUGE crush on one of the boys in that family Micah.

Sometimes it is fun (and good) to think about the good times from when  you were younger. I realize how far I have come in life. Childhood is fun and I hope that my children will look back and have great memories of their childhood. I love being a mother and l couldn't have asked for better children. Life is grand!

Change That Voice

I love Chalene!! She really knows her schtuff, all you have to do is Change That Voice :-)
