8 tracks...

Haha! I am up way to late listening to songs I remember from so long ago. When I was young my dad had an 8 track player and some of my favorites were The Carpenters and UB40! They make me smile and remember good times when I was young. It is good to reminisce of the "good old days" when I didn't have a care in the world...no responsibility :-P We grow up so fast! I can remember it like it was just yesterday. In the yellow house on E avenue, the first house we lived in when we moved to Iowa.

I remember so many times when the weather was nice I would open the front door to the house, turn the music up real loud and dance like there was a live concert in my living room. I also remember waking up on a school day and it was later then normal so I was worried I was going to be late for school. Dad had to work and after we didn't like going to the babysitter in the morning anymore we stayed home and got ourselves ready. Well on this day I looked outside and there was snow all over the ground and my dad was shoveling, school had been cancelled. I remember I was excited to have my dad home that day.

I also remember a time when dad had to travel and was gone for quite some time. The babysitter we had then was so cool (she was older and one of the popular girls). I am going to go nuts tying to remember the last name of that family...GRRR!! Anyway right before my dad got home she helped us make a heart shaped cake and taught us a dance and song to perform for him when he got back. I can't remember any of it now, but it was fun to learn. GREEN!!!! That is the last name of that family. Not that any of you care that read this, with the exception of my family. I remember I had a HUGE crush on one of the boys in that family Micah.

Sometimes it is fun (and good) to think about the good times from when  you were younger. I realize how far I have come in life. Childhood is fun and I hope that my children will look back and have great memories of their childhood. I love being a mother and l couldn't have asked for better children. Life is grand!

  1. Our babysitter's name was Felicia Greene. I remember I had a crush on Micah's older brother, but I certainly don't remember his name. I remember blasting Carpenters, and later on, TLC. Those were the good ole' days. I remember that I was NEVER GOING TO SPEAK TO YOU EVER AGAIN! I'm not sure how many times I lied to you about that. So I'll call ya later :)
